Rehabilitating Town Hall as a Community Center

Can you help?

The historic  1844 Town Hall building is deteriorating and little used, yet

The Historical Society needs a permanent home.

Whately needs community meeting space and event space.

The beautiful and historic town center needs a linchpin to help it continue as the core of the community.

Rehabilitating Town Hall as a community center will solve all these problems.

The plans include

a large, climate-controlled space for the Historical Society museum

a community meeting room

an accessible assembly hall for performances, craft fairs, dance rehearsals, yoga and exercise classes, and more

a small kitchen

fully accessible restrooms

stabilization of the building’s exterior, window restoration, improved insulation, all plumbing and wiring brought to code

improved parking.

You can help.

Getting this done will take a lot of work.  That is why a group of town residents have joined together and launched an effort to increase awareness and raise private funds for the Town Hall renovation project. Every gift received will have the additional benefit of demonstrating support for this project.

To donate, mail  a check made out to Whately Historical Society/Town Hall Fund to PO Box 7, Whately, 01093.  If your employer will match the contribution, include a matching gift form.  You may also give via PayPal or by credit card by clicking below.

All gifts for the Town Hall project are fully deductible as charitable contributions to the extent allowed by law.
